So far, six people in Delhi are tested positive for coronavirus till now. The Delhi government has ordered all the schools, colleges, movie theatres, public libraries and institutions to get closed till 31st march 2020. According to the report of the Indian ministry, so far 11,14,025 people have been screened at the different airports of India.
The Delhi government is taking several steps to prevent coronavirus disease from spreading. Several early startups, firms and companies have already directed its employees to work from home or are monitoring people with respiratory symptoms.
Two days ago, The WHO declared the coronavirus Pandemic. The Delhi government has also stated it a Pandemic. All schools and colleges in Delhi, whose examinations are over, will remain closed till 31 March.
The impact of coronavirus is on the upcoming sports events in India. Seven IPL matches got scheduled to be played in Delhi stadium which will not happen now. Moreover, as long as there is a coronavirus infection, there will be no other sports-related activity.
Presently, two nodal hospitals, Safdarjung and RML are prepared for coronavirus patients in Delhi. A private ward of 16 beds in the isolation ward of RML Hospital and 100 beds in Safdarjung hospital are well equipped. As the number of cases is rising, arrangements are being made for screening and sampling in about 25 hospitals in Delhi. These quick measures are taken so that the infection potential can be investigated immediately, and patients can be quickly separated from healthy people and admitted to the isolation ward.
The total number of coronavirus cases in India has risen to 78, and the country has witnessed first death in the state of Karnataka. Not only Delhi but other state governments have taken critical steps to stop the spreading of coronavirus. So far no city has been kept under a lock down or quarantine. Several states of India have released the helpline numbers in which people can call.
